1,000 Thank You’s from a New Mom in Boca

I recently did an overnight postpartum job for a new mom in Boca Raton who hadn’t been sleeping at all since her newborn son was born 3 weeks earlier.  She must have thanked me at least 1,000 times when I left in the morning. It was the first time in almost 21 days that she was able to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. She was introduced to the idea of hiring a postpartum doula to help with overnight care for her newborn from her labor doula. This Boca mom had never hired a postpartum doula or new born care specialist with her other children.  She said now that she has seen how amazing it is to get a full nights sleep and have some assistance overnight she says she can’t wait to do it again. On my way out the door in the morning,  this well rested mom of a newborn was so happy and thank me again and again and again. She was breastfeeding her son and pumped during the day so her baby could still get her breast milk in a bottle during the night. She never heard him cry, she didn’t have to leave her bed and she got 8 hours of sleep and felt completely rested and ready for the day. She plans on telling all her friends that have recently had babies that they should think about hiring a postpartum doula for newborn care. If she has another baby she will definitely be hiring a postpartum doula to help care for her newborn. It still surprises me that so many new mom have never heard of how beneficial a postpartum doula or newborn care specialist can be for them. Not only does it allow you to sleep, it allows you to have help with minor household chores running errands during the day. A new mom can run and take a shower or take a nap during the day if she has the help of a postpartum doula. If you are pregnant or recently had a newborn in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Parkland or surrounding areas in South Florida, set up a free consultation with a postpartum doula today. You will be thanking me a thousand times that you did.
