The Life of a New Mom and How a Postpartum Doula Can Help

It’s 2am on a Tuesday morning and you are haven’t slept in DAYS! You’re tired, sore from breastfeeding, still in pain from your delivery and baby is hungry. …. so you nurse or bottle feed him again , burp him, change him,  and slowly get him back to sleep……and repeat it all again in 2 hours (maybe 3 if you’re lucky ). Even though moms have been doing this for hundreds of years it doesn’t make it any easier. It doesn’t stop you from being tired (exhausted actually) and it doesn’t make the pain from your delivery go away either.  Moms need help and that’s where a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, or baby nurse comes in.

A postpartum doula is a women experience in newborn care and postpartum care of new moms. We are a non-medical support system for moms! Postpartum doulas care for new moms, moms of twins and triplets, first time moms or seasoned moms. We assist in newborn care, support the mom with breastfeeding or bottle feeding, offer suggestions or answer questions about feedings, diapering, bathing infants  or just listen to her concerns or fears. New moms need someone to talk to, someone who will listen and offer non-judgmental support. Postpartum doulas, newborn care specialist and baby nurses love babies and new moms, and enjoy assisting families in their new role as mom and dad. Not all new families have help with their infant. If you don’t have relatives in town or friends that are available to assist you in the few days, weeks or months,  consider hiring a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist or baby nurse for your newborn’s needs.

If you are a new mom in the Coral Springs, Parkland, Boca or surrounding areas, please contact me for a free consultation. Hourly rates and overnight rates are available.
